Darsheel Safary finds theatre more satisfying
Meanwhile, Darsheel also has one more bit of news to share, revealing that he has turned actor-director for his next project.
Darsheel Safary, the child artist who won hearts in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par is now taking his acting talent a notch higher and is hooked on to theatre.
Darsheel who did his first play in 2016 when he was 18, says, “I am more interested in good stories so my first play was Could I help You. That’s what generated my interest in plays.”
The actor is now coming up with the play Two Adorable Losers in Mumbai on January 13 this year. For the Out of the Box production that toured India last year, this will be its 90th show.
Meanwhile, Darsheel also has one more bit of news to share, revealing that he has turned actor-director for his next project.
“Being part of the theatre group inspired me to write my first short film. I have written and directed my short film and we just have one day of shoot left. I can’t reveal much right now. It should be out by March or April,” he says.
Asked whether he is also acting in it, he offers, “I just have one scene in it because everyone felt I should do it.”
So, is theatre more satisfying to him than anything else? The 21-year-old gushes, “Absolutely. Doing theatre is more satisfying. It makes you so alert and also you perform in front of so many people you have their instant reaction; there is no second take. Even one error can spoil the entire thing. Performing in front of a live audience is always a different experience. I fell in love with it."
