Karan Johar never shies away from experimentation. And it was for all to see when he walked the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week on Friday.

Dressed in a silver and black jacket, he sported a spiked salt-and-pepper hairdo. The filmmaker, said, “Since I am a half-Sindhi, bling goes with my territory. Men should never shy away from shining. Men should also stop thinking that plain clothing is the way ahead for them.” He further revealed it was designer duo Shane and Falguni Peacock’s idea, for whom he turned showstopper. “It was their idea to go completely silver on hair. This is how I will age. I hope I don’t look like Sonakshi’s (Sinha) uncle,” he added.

Karan couldn’t help himself from praising Ranveer Singh, who has been pushing fashion boundaries much further with his sartorial style. “Fortunately, people will accept every trend because he has set the bar high. I adore him for taking men’s fashion to another level. To me, he is the brand ambassador of edgy fashion.”

Apart from Karan, Sonakshi too walked the ramp for the same show. We asked them if they were to promote their upcoming film together at the event. However, the refreshingly replied in the negative. “We are glad to be part of Welcome to New York but the idea was not to promote the film on this platform. The intention was only fashion for today,” Karan concluded.
