Kapil leaves event organisers in lurch by failing to turn up; Firangi debacle to blame?
The actor-comedian seems to have backed out of another event, causing substantial losses to the organisers.
Mumbai: Kapil Sharma has suddenly become controversy's favourite child, and it seems the tag won't leave him any soon.
His cancelling the shoots involving stars after making them wait for hours on his TV show had made headlines few months ago.
Only later, the actor-comedian claimed that it was owing to his health issues.
Kapil later got treated for his ailments at an Ayurvedic centre in Bengaluru, and we thought such stories wouldn’t appear again.
But he again failed to appear for a shoot on Akshay Kumar's show, making the team wait for four hours before the episode's cancellation.
He revealed again that it was due to his health troubles again, and arrived to shoot the episode few days later.
And now, Kapil seems to have backed out of another event, causing substantial losses to the organisers.
According to a report in entertainment portal Bollywood Life, the actor-comedian was supposed to attend a conclave for a Hindi news channel in Delhi on Sunday. After making the orgaziners shuffle the air tickets thrice, he eventually didn’t turn up for the event. And the reason for the same could be because Kapil is depressed with the poor box office performance of his second film ‘Firangi’, which released on Friday.
“We were greatly distressed. Tickets were booked and re-booked for him thrice. In all, there were seven tickets. It cost us close to two lakhs. The reason given for the last minute back out was the poor response to Firangi by his close associates. It looks like Kapil is again stuck by depression,” a source close to the channel told the portal.
The actor-comedian had earlier admitted that his health had deteriorated following the negative stories surrounding fight with co-star Sunil Grover and alcohol problems. And now we hope ‘Firangi’s box office collections doesn’t worsen his health troubles any further.
