Sohum Shah, the lead actor in Tumbbad is looking for a writer who can pen the film. He already has a story in mind and wants it to be developed.

Tumbbad based on Narayan Dharap’s short story was made into a film and the film did extremely well at the box office. Made on a shoestring budget and shot over many monsoons, the film caught the attention of cinegoers and critics alike.

Now another film based on another Dharap story, Patient No 302, has been made into a film called Rakkhosh by Srivinay Salian and has been winning accolades at various film festivals.

Meanwhile Sohum Shah who was the lead actor in Tummbad, which was directed by Rahi Anil Barve and presented by Aanand L Rai, is now contemplating a sequel to the story. “Sohum is looking for a writer who can pen the film. He already has a story in mind and wants it to be developed. There are other film scripts that he is looking at, but the sequel to the film is something that he does not want to miss doing,” says a trade source. Tumbbad was set in rural Maharashtra and had a terrific business in the state. This time around Sohum has a more pan India tale to tell. But he needs a writer. Any takers?
