Yami Gautam's casting in Batti Gul uncertain?
Apparently Bhushan, the T-Series head honcho, has informed Prernaa that he is not okay with Yami being cast the film.
Is there a tussle brewing between producer Prernaa Arora and her co-producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, over the casting of Yami Gautam in Batti Gul Meter Chalu? Incidentally, the film’s shooting starts next week.
Apparently Bhushan, the T-Series head honcho, has informed Prernaa that he is “not okay” with Yami being cast the film. While reasons for desiring Yami’s ouster from the project are not being discussed, sources say Yami had issues with Bhushan’s wife Divya Khosla Kumar, who directed her in Sanam Re, during the shoot.
Caught in this crossfire is Prernaa. A source adds, “The Kumars are Prernaa’s friends. She doesn’t want to offend them in any way. But at the same time, she can’t wriggle out of her commitment to Yami.”
When we asked Prernaa about the casting crisis, she laughed it off. “There is no problem as such. There can never be any problem with T-Series — they’re wonderful associates. Minor hiccups toh hotey hi rehte hain. It’s all a part and parcel of the creative process. We are all on the same page here.”
Both Shahid Kapoor and Yami are supposed play lawyers in Shree Narayan Singh-directed Batti Gul. However, it remains to be seen if Yami gets to stay in the film.
