Karan Johar and Shah Rukh have worked together in several films.

Mumbai: The weekend turned into a big celebration for the tinsel town as soon as news of the 'wonderful addition' to Karan Johar's life broke.

When the whole B-Town showered Karan and his twins, Yash and Roohi, with wishes, how can his best friend Shah Rukh Khan be far behind?

The 51-year-old actor, who walked the ramp at the Mijwan- Summer 2017 on Sunday for Manish Malhotra, along with Anushka Sharma, shared his thoughts, when asked by the media.

"We wish him happiness. It's still very personal. Don't think I am being cagey by not answering about it. I have had this moment in my life so I know how personal it is. Let's respect it and leave it to that. We will have love, celebrations, happiness and health later," he said here at the event.

The 44-year-old filmmaker took to Twitter, on Sunday morning, to share the news of the birth of Roohi and Yash via surrogacy, with an official statement, "I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash."

"I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science," he added.

The statement further read, "This was an emotional yet well thought out decision which I have taken after considering all the responsibilities and duties that come with being a parent. In order to arrive at this decision, I have prepared myself mentally, physically, emotionally and logistically to ensure that my children get all the unconditional love, care and attention from me and mine. I have submitted to the fact that my children are my world and priority."

"My work, travels and social commitments would have to take a back seat and I am prepared for that. By the grace of God, I have the most caring and supportive mother who will be an integral part in the up-bringing of her grandchildren and of course, friends who are family," the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' director continued.

He concluded, "I am eternally grateful to the surrogate who has fulfilled my lifelong dream and provided a warm, loving and nurturing environment to my children before bringing them into this world. She will always remain in my prayers. Finally, a big thank you to Dr. Jatin Shah for his guidance and support and for being like a family member through this wonderful and exciting journey."

On a related note, KJo, who has been very close to SRK's family for years now, considers the latter's kids his godchildren. So, can we expect SRK to be the godfather for KJo's tiny tots?
