Ajay Devgn is one actor who stays away from controversies. But he isn’t shy of taking risks either. The actor is now all set to make a biopic of Tanaji Malusare, who served as one of Shivaji’s generals in the 17th century.

After the volley of controversies that the Padmaavat team encountered, filmmakers were said to be wary of taking up period films. However, Ajay seems fearless.

Ajay isn’t worried about the backlash when he starts working on the historical film. He says, “If you  simply stick to history, these controversies can be tackled. People do create trouble if they want to create trouble. Having said that, it’s not a very good situation. Ideally, it shouldn’t be like this.”

The Hindi movie, titled Taanaji The Unsung Warrior, will be released in 2019.

Malusare is the celebrated warrior who is said to have won the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 by scaling an impregnable fort with the help of his pet monitor lizard.
