Cop universe film Sooryavanshi awaits release when theatres in Mumbai open up
Earlier this week, Rohit Shetty was at Mehboob Studios to shoot for his animation series, Smashing Simmba.
A trade source tells us that Smashing Simmba is similar to Rohit’s comic series based on his Ajay-Devgn-starrer Singham. Smashing Simmba, based on Ranveer-Singh starrer Simmba, is set to be out in a week’s time.
Incidentally, Rohit is set to reunite with Ranveer for his next film Cirkus, which will be shot in Mumbai and Goa.
Readers may remember that the filmmaker was perhaps the first man to come out after the lockdown in July to shoot for his next season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. In the meanwhile, his action-packed, cop universe film Sooryavanshi awaits release when theatres in Mumbai open up. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles with cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, is expected to be out soon.
Additionally, we hear Rohit was trying to produce a film for director Farah Khan, which was originally supposed to be a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan hit, Satte Pe Satta, but was later changed to be a remake of the original Hollywood film, Seven Brides for Seven Sisters.
Shetty is also due to work on Golmaal 5 apart from the third installment of Singham.
