The two actors passed less-than-favourable comments about each other over the CAA/NRC issue in the media recently, which caused a social media frenzy.
“We as a family are trying to raise our voice against this injustice that is happening in our country. It’s time for every citizen who cares about the country to speak up and protest; I think it’s a very important time now,” asserts Vivaan Shah about the current duress in the nation over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) introduced by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The actor also got candid about veteran actors like his father Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher getting into verbal differences, which he opines is creating a divide in the industry. The two actors passed less-than-favourable comments about each other over the CAA/NRC issue in the media recently, which caused a social media frenzy.
“Everyone has different opinions, political ideologies, and beliefs. So there is a divide, but at the end of the day we are all professional people and we all enjoy acting. I hope this does not become so divided in our country. But we have to work together as an industry by putting our political beliefs behind and do the work. So at the same time, it is important for us to stand up and speak for what our beliefs are,” Vivaan opines in conclusion.
