The Fault in Aditya Roy Kapur's stars
The big banners are wary of casting Aditya as they look at more reliable names or fresh faces.
Aditya Roy Kapur’s career seems to have come to a standstill. Even though he hails from an influential film family and is producer Siddharth Roy Kapur’s sibling, it does not seem to be helping. He made a spectacular beginning, rose to a brief spell of stardom before hitting this current rough patch.
Aditya, until recently, was considered a hot contender for the top spots alongside Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor. However, he seems to have lost steam with a slew of flops in Yash Raj Films’ Daawat-e-Ishq, Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor and most recent Shaad Ali’s Ok Jaanu.
The big banners are wary of casting Aditya as they look at more reliable names or fresh faces. The news is that he has been dropped from Karan Johar’s prestigious remake of the Hollywood blockbuster The Fault in Our Stars.
Karan had zeroed in on Aditya and his blue-eyed girl Alia Bhatt to play the terminally ill lovers in the remake. Apparently, KJo is now on the hunt for a new leading man.
Says a source, “Aditya started as the second lead in Sanjay Bhansali's Guzaarish, Vipul Shah’s London Dreams and Ayan Mukherjee’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Aashiqui 2 turned out to be the game changer. Somewhere, something went wrong. Now, he needs to rechart his career map.”
We hear big brother Siddharth has something up his sleeve and there will be an announcement soon.
