Super 30 takes a dig at nepotism

The line, which takes a sharp dig at the culture of nepotism, has seemingly revived the debate launched earlier by Kangana Ranaut.

Hrithik Roshan

The recently-released poster of Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film Super 30, a biopic based on the life of iconic Bihari mathematician Anand Kumar, reads, “Ab raja ka beta raja nahin banega. Ab raja wahi banega jo hoga haqdaar.” (A king’s son will no longer become the king. Now, only the deserving will be crowned.)

The line, which takes a sharp dig at the culture of nepotism, has seemingly revived the debate launched earlier by Kangana Ranaut. We’re not sure if this is pure coincidence, or a deliberate attempt to play up the war that’s been brewing between Hrithik and Kangana.

What makes matters even more interesting is that Super 30 and Kangana’s Manikarnika are both scheduled to release on January 25, 2019. But with portions of the historical film currently being reshot, it seems unlikely that it will make its release date. That means that Hrithik will have a clear field during the Republic Day weekend.

Incidentally, Hrithik’s Kaabil released on the Republic Day weekend last year, and Rakesh Roshan intends to schedule the next instalment of the Krrish series for release on Republic Day 2020.
