Ode to Big B, Rajesh Khanna's classic: Jackky Bhagnani starts shooting for Anandwaa
The actor-producer is back on the big screen with a project based on the cult classic directed by Hririshikesh Mukherjee.
Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna’s ‘Anand’ is undoubtedly one of the most loved films in Hindi cinema and is considered a cult classic.
And an ode to the Hrishikesh Mukherjee directorial is all set to be made, with Jackky Bhagnani in the lead and helmed by Abir Sengupta.
Titled ‘Anandwaa’, the film will be a comic satire tracing the journey of a man who uses humour instead of gloom to deal with a life-changing situation.
About the film, Jackky, who is known for films like ‘Youngistan’ and ‘F.A.L.T.U’, said, “I am very excited to play this role. ‘Anand’ is such a poignant and beautiful film. I am honored to be working for this project. The film requires a lot of sensitivity and what drew me to the script is how maturely the writing was handled. I am sure the audiences will love the film.”
‘Anandwaa’ went on floors in Mumbai recently and Jackky and Abir seem confident about their venture in pictures that have surfaced.
