Designer-turned-director Vikram Phadnis is delighted to take his Marathi movie, Hrudayantar to the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne. He also hopes that while he’s taking the movie to the world, his close friend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will get some time to watch his film.

Aishwarya is also set to be a special guest at the IFFM this year. “Aiswarya hasn’t seen the film yet and I’m hoping she will watch my film. I hope she has the time to see it,” Vikram says.

The designer, who invited the actress for the launch of the film’s music, asserts that her feedback is important for him. “Her review matters a lot to me. We’ve grown up together and she knows cinema inside out. Her opinion does matter to me a lot. I just hope she likes this film,” he added.

His very first venture, Hrudayantar has become the official selection for IFFM, which is being held between August 10 and 22.

The maker also has plans to cast Aishwarya in his next, which he’s currently working on. “Yes,” he admits. “I will be reworking on my script,  which I had written for Aishwarya few years ago. I will start my film soon, and it’s too early to reveal anything at this point of time.”

Hrudayantar is an emotional screenplay of how a couple that’s going through a marital crisis set aside their differences to brave their 10-year-old daughter’s tryst with a life-threatening disease.
