Papa Suniel on son Ahan's Bollywood debut
The film is being bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala and will release in 2019.
Actor Suniel Shetty is on cloud nine as his son, Ahan Shetty is all set to make his Bollywood debut in the remake of the Telugu hit RX 100. The film is being bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala and will release in 2019.
Though the doting father is pleased that a reputed banner is supporting his son’s film, he says that Ahan has to work hard to make it big.
“I am glad that Ahan got a producer like Nadiadwala and such a banner. Rajat Arora is the writer and Milan Luthria the director. Now, if he works hard and thinks from the producer’s point of view, then there is no stopping Ahana. Otherwise, he has to struggle like all the other boys out there,” says the actor.
“You will get your second film only if you have the personality and talent. But his debut film has an extraordinary story,” he adds.
Suniel has been picking his own projects rather carefully and talks a bit about his upcoming film. “My next film is Pehelwan and it’s based on wrestling. The makers came to me and said ‘you haven’t worked for four years, so if you want to make a comeback this is the best film’. Somehow, I have forgotten acting so I thought let me learn it again. That’s why I signed Pehelwan. I am getting a chance to connect with my audience, so it’s a big film. I am playing my age and a respectful character,” reveals Suniel.
While the actor makes a good action hero, he is also known for his flawless comic timing. Ask him if he misses comedy films and he says, “I am doing a Hera Pheri sequel and am excited about this stage in my career. I do miss humorous films, but when I watch films like Badhaai Ho, I feel that the cinema of the masses is back; real cinema is back. This is the perfect time to watch such films. We don’t have to waste crores on promotions as social media is a great platform these days.”
