Amitabh Bachchan's Sarkar 3 gets postponed, to clash with Ranbir's Jagga Jasoos now
Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar 3' was earlier slated to release on March 17 and could have had a solo release then.
Mumbai: Clashes at the box office have become a frequent occurrence with more 'big' films being made today and with producers being keen to release films on festivals and other suitable dates.
The clash between Shah Rukh Khan Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ had been one of the most discussed topics over the past few weeks. The films released at the box office and have managed to do well, but there is no denying the fact that the films would have done better business had they released alone.
There were also some unpleasant exchanges between Shah Rukh and the Roshans with the latter finding it hard to digest the 60-40 screen allocation of screens to the Shah Rukh Khan starrer.
Just when a clash is over, another clash has been announced. Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Sarkar 3’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ will be clashing at the box office on April 7.
The director of ‘Sarkar 3’, Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to announce that the film would be releasing on his birthday.
The film was earlier slated to release on March 17 and Bachchan, while announcing the release date, had stated how the film was set to release earlier than it was expected. And hence the postponement of the release date is a bit surprising.
As far as Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is concerned, pictures and videos of Katrina Kaif from the sets have been surfacing regularly but Ranbir has moved on to shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt.
We just hope that this clash is amicable.
