Anita Hassanandani's not-so-scary ghost appearance
The actress will be soon seen playing the role of a ghost in Trideviyaan.
Looks like Anita Hassanandani didn’t quite have her fill playing a ghost in Ye Hai Mohabbatein. The actress will be soon seen playing the role of a ghost in Trideviyaan. Talking about her act, Anita says, “It’s a fresh break from the monotony of your quintessential daily soap characters. It is opportunities like these where you get to play different characters that make acting fun for us. Mohini (my character) is all things ghost-like — spooky and creepy — but at the same time she is a little funny. This is quite unlike the ghost I played in Ye Hai Mohabbatein.”
Telling us more about her role in the serial, Anita says the most interesting part about the character was conversing in a South Indian accent. “It’s hilarious to see myself talking in that accent,” she laughs. The actress opens about the challenge of picking up the South Indian accent right. “Despite his South Indian connection, my husband Rohit doesn’t have an accent at all. So, getting used to that accent was a challenge,” smiles Anita. Though the actress has already tried her hand at comedy, tickling the funny bone is no cakewalk. “I have done Gutar-Gu, which was a silent comedy show. I think playing a comic role is the toughest job for an actor; to put glycerin and cry is easy, but to make people laugh is difficult,” the actress signs off.
