‘Race’ franchise was synonymous with Saif Ali Khan. It was almost like the actor’s identity. However, the third instalment of ‘Race’ has changed everything.

Instead of Abbas-Mustan, Remo D’Souza has donned the director’s hat for ‘Race 3’ which stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Freddy Daruwala in pivotal roles.

Even though Saif has been replaced, Jacqueline and Anil are repeated from ‘Race 2’ for a movie which Remo claims required a completely new cast.

In an interview with BollywoodLife, Remo revealed, “There’s no reference to Saif in the film. It wasn’t that we didn’t want him. The script is written with different characters, which is why Ramesh (Taurani) ji approached Salman sir and when he was on board, then it was all done. All the other characters were done so there was no need.”
