Arjun Kapoor working hard for Panipat
The actor, who will play SadashivRao in Panipat, has been getting help from director Ashutosh Gowariker to get the Maharashtrian twang right.
Not many may know that Arjun Kapoor is playing Ranveer Singh’s nephew in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. Ranveer played the role of Peshwa Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, and now Arjun is playing the role of Sadashivrao Bhau, Peshwa Bajirao’s nephew, in Panipat.
While Ranveer got his Marathi accent more or less right for his role, his Gunday co-star Arjun is getting help for his accent from director Ashutosh Gowar-iker himself. The actor stepped into the dubbing studio on Tuesday, and Gowariker helped him with the nuances in the dubbing.
“Arjun is a Mumbai boy, and hence he had the Marathi twang more or less in place, but the help in fine-tuning came from Gowariker. It is a period drama and Arjun’s first historical, so a lot of care was given during the dubbing as well,” says an industry source.
Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Afghan king Ahmad Khan Abdali to Arjun’s Sadashivrao in the third battle of Panipat, which resulted in a huge loss to the Maratha army.
