Much ado over Zero's poster
Now the second poster featuring Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh has landed in soup for its similarities to the poster of French film Un Homme a la Hauteur.
Since the posters of Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero are out, controversies have been rife over the Aanand L. Rai directorial. It started with a Sikh organisation objecting to Shah Rukh Khan wearing a kirpan-like dagger in the poster. The makers soon denied the charges saying it is not a kirpan worn only by Sikhs, but a katar, another type of dagger.
Now the second poster featuring Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh has landed in soup for its similarities to the poster of French film Un Homme a la Hauteur. Social media is abuzz with the talk of the copied poster. Commenting on the ‘inspired design’, a senior trade host says, “A lot of designers in Bollywood lack originality and hence they generally get inspired or sometimes lift from posters of foreign films. Now that everyone is watching Hollywood movies and posters, Korean and European cinema posters seem to be the easy way to lift from.”
The excitement has been high since Zero’s trailer release and the audience is expecting a lot from the film now in the wake of the disappointed show of Thugs of Hindostan.
“These are negligible controversies which may not really affect the box office. But then, there will be people who air their opinions in social media. If the content of Zero is good and they trust Aanand, the film should sail through,” adds an industry source.
