Karan seems to be slowly warming up to me: Kangana to appear on his TV show
Days after he said that he will lovingly' welcome her to his show, the actress is indeed making an appearance as a guest.
Mumbai: Nepotism perhaps made headlines in 2017 than most of the stars in the film industry and we have two people to thank for that, Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar, and their war of words surrounding it.
Days after Karan said that he and team of his new TV show ‘India’s Next Superstars’ will ‘lovingly’ welcome Kangana if the channel decides to invite her, the actress is indeed making an appearance on the show as a guest.
“I am looking forward to being on the show. It is a professional commitment for which I’m being paid. What is delightful is that Karan is okay with doing the show with me and seems to be slowly warming up to me,” Kangana told Mumbai Mirror.
Kangana and Karan traded some unpleasant exchanges after the former accused the filmmaker of being a ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ on his TV show.
Karan retorted that the actress ‘clearly learnt those 12 lines’ and said he was tired of the actress playing the woman and victim cards often.
Kangana gave it back to him by saying she was only playing the ‘badass card’.
Karan’s taking a dig at her along with Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan by shouting ‘Nepotism rocks’ on an awards show didn’t go down well with audiences, and the trio had to apologise later.
Despite Karan later saying he developed ‘nepospasm’ following the controversial debate, the filmmaker’s TV show tagline is also about nepotism, which Kangana also believes in, ‘Na khandaan, na sifarish... Bollywood ko hai sirf talent ka intezaar’.
“I am the epitome of the tagline being a self-made woman and actress myself, which is precisely why the channel wants me.” Kangana told the tabloid.
She also said, “I have not gone back on my ideology. I stick to what I believe in.”
She added, “I have already written an open letter on it, but I am open to discussing any subject. Nepotism is a great subject to be discussed."
Will their row, which started on a TV show, end on another, or there are fresh fireworks between the two? We have to wait for the episode to know that.
