Along with Deepika Padukone, producer Guneet Monga has been listed in Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report 2018 among the  most influential women of the world. She shares the list with names like Miuccia Prada, Daisy Ridley, J.K. Rowling, Sofia Vergara, Emma Watson, Lupita Nyong’o, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek, Gal Gadot, Judi Dench and Adele.

Guneet says she feels blessed. “I am truly humbled and grateful to be recognised amongst other such accomplished women. It’s inspiring to know that voices from around the world can make a difference. It’s been a long journey trying to put  Indian cinema on the global stage but at times like these we truly feel like we are making an impact.” The producer came into the spotlight when for backing content-driven films such as Gangs Of Wasseypur and The Lunchbox among others.

Guneet feels her success cannot be seen in isolation. “There have been some amazing men and women across the world who have mentored m. It would have been incredibly difficult to find my own way without their guidance. Some of these mentors are Anurag Kashyap, Stacey Sher the producer of films like Erin Brockovich, Django Unchained and Kill Bill; and, Melita Toscan, my French co-producer on Masaan.”
