Two of Akshay's films postponed?
The superstar will have to wait a while as gold and 2.0 will not release on Independence Day.
Akshay Kumar fans might have to wait a while before they get to see their favourite hero on the big screen as trade sources say that the release date of two of his films might be postponed. Both, the Reema Kagti directed Gold, which stars Akshay Kumar and is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and 2.0, directed by Shanker and starring Rajinikanth and Akshay, will not be able to meet their Independence Day release deadline.
“The VFX on 2.0 is the issue, as was the case earlier. The filmmakers will be making an official announcement soon on the release date once they know the status of the VFX and when they will be ready,” says a source. Meanwhile, the Bollywood industry is abuzz with stories on how Gold, being a sports film, is taking time on the edit table and will hence be unable to meet the Independence Day deadline.
The makers of either film have not yet issued an official statement on the release dates. Known for enjoying at least two releases every year, Akshay’s only release this year has been Pad Man.
