Vaani Kapoor gushes about Ranbir
The Befikre actress also learnt Kathak for Shamshera.
Vaani Kapoor, who is basking in the success of her film War, will now be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in period drama Shamshera.
The actress can’t stop gushing about her co-star. “Ranbir doesn’t carry that whole baggage of being a superstar, he is very normal and chill. He is like my age and he is very relaxed and cool, which makes me feel very comfortable while working with him. He doesn’t have any air about himself that ‘I am Ranbir’. There is no diva behaviour at all on-set, despite being a star,” she says, adding, “He is so normal that it’s not funny. It’s amazing, and I wish I can be like him; it inspires me. He is extremely talented and intelligent. He figures out the characteristics of his character very easily. He gets into the skin of the character very easily. He looks very effortless.”
Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera is expected to be a larger-than-life entertainer with Ranbir Kapoor in a never seen before avatar, and Sanjay Dutt as his merciless nemesis. Directed by Karan Malhotra, Vaani will be seen in a new look in this period drama. The Befikre actress also learnt Kathak for Shamshera.
“I have learnt Kathak for this film, so the outfit is different and the look is completely different. I blindly trust my director because he is so clear about the tone of this film. There is so much clarity. I just submit myself I enact whatever he wants. I have done Kathak in school, I did it for a song,” Vaani concludes.
