On the professional front, 2018 has been a bountiful year for Ayushmann Khurrana, as the actor is still basking in the glory of his back-to-back hits – Andhadhun and Badhai Ho. However, Ayushmann insists that his nose isn’t up in the air for he is surrounded by people who keep him grounded.  “At home, there’s no starry treatment. Your friends and family keep you grounded. It is important to not get swayed by your success and to have a reality check,” says the actor.

The actor also reveals his most forthright critics. Says the actor, “My wife and my father are my biggest critics, and they will always give me an objective viewpoint for my own good. They want me to work harder.”

Ayushmann stresses the importance of honest criticism, even if it isn’t sugarcoated to soften the blow. He says, “I am very self-critical, to begin with, I am surrounded by people who are not ‘yes men’; they’re the ones who give me perfect criticism, not even encouraging criticism, but just blunt criticism. So I am glad I am surrounded by these people.”

He also believes that, as an actor, it’s important to take criticism in your stride, especially in the age of social media. “I am open to criticism and I take it positively. Anybody who is on social media is used to criticism because people can be blunt, and that makes you stronger. For the past two years, people have only been showering blessings, but if you are an actor, you have to be open to criticism too,” says the 34-year-old actor.
