Actress Jacqueline Fernandez unhurt in car accident

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez met with an accident in the wee hours of Friday when an autorickshaw rammed into her Mercedes car near Carter Road.

Luckily, the actress and her driver escaped unhurt as did the auto driver. Jacqueline was returning from a party at her Race 3 co-star Salman Khan’s residence in Galaxy Apartments.

A little ahead of Salman’s building, an autorickshaw rammed into the actress’s car. The police confirmed the incident and said that they had detained the auto driver, who is suspected to be an inebriated state at the time of the accident.

Sources said that Jacqueline, who had come to party along with Race 3 co-star Salman, Bobby Deol, director Remo Dsouza, Nikhil Dwivedi and producer Ramesh Taurani at Salman’s house on Thursday night, met with an accident soon after leaving the premises.

Subsequently there was a collision at Carter Road and the cops stationed at the nearby post rushed to the spot to check it out. Luckily there were no casualties or major damages done to either vehicle. Only the headlights of Jacqueline’s car were damaged.

A senior police official said that the Khar police station detained the auto-rickshaw driver and checked if he was in an inebriated state.

However, since nobody was hurt, no police complaint was registered, and the auto driver was let off on Friday morning.

“The actress remained inside the car and let her driver inspect the damage done to the vehicle,” said an eyewitness.
