Mumbai: The trailer of Akshay Kumar's upcoming social drama 'Toilet- Ek Prem Katha' has brilliantly drawn attention to the scarcity of toilets in the country, with even Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeting about it.

The songs of the film have been narrating a story just like its interesting trailer had.

The makers unveiled three versions of the song ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ with the male version seeing Akshay falling in love with Bhumi Pednekar's character, the female version seeing her character also sharing similar feelings and the couple finally uniting in the duet version.

The next song’ Bakheda’ took their love story forward but he also had to get married to a buffalo due to the superstitious beliefs in his family.

Like we had seen in the trailer, Akshay does eventually get married to Bhumi, but she leaves him because of the lack of a toilet in the house.

The new song ‘Gori Tu Latth Maar’ shows how Akshay is shattered post his wife leaving him and is asking her to hit him with a ‘latth’ as the villagers celebrate a festival of colours.

Bhumi does oblige, but her pain is visible as she is heavily sobbing.

The pair looks beautiful in their traditional attires and their chemistry also shines despite their differences.

The song has been rendered by Sonu Nigam and Palak Muchhal, composed by Manas-Shikhar and lyrics have been penned by Siddharth-Garima.

‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha’, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, is gearing up for release on 11 August.
