Mumbai: Varun Dhawan had registered a 100 per cent success rate in Bollywood until the release of Karan Johar's magnum opus, Kalank. Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur, Kalank was the biggest disappointment of 2019 so far.

Speaking about Kalank's failure, Varun Dhawan told Hindustan Times, "It (Kalank) was not accepted by the audience because it was a bad film and somewhere we all failed collectively."

"Making a film is a team effort. It’s wrong to blame it on the director and producer. And being a part of the team, I will take part of the blame as well. The film did let down people. We have collectively gone through why it didn’t work. Personally, it (failure) was important. I wanted the failure to affect me because if it doesn’t, then that means I don’t love my work,” Varun added.

On the work front, Varun will next be seen in Remo D'souza's dance film, Street Dancer 3D. The film also stars Prabhudheva and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The film slated to release on January 24, 2020.
