Who will play Gulshan Kumar?
It has to be an A-lister. Bhushan wants to immortalize his father through this biopic: Source
With Akshay Kumar walking out of the Gulshan Kumar biopic Mogul, the question now is, who will play the founder of the T-series label? Aamir Khan’s name has been floating around, but it is certain even he won’t be playing the music mogul says a source close to the development, “Aamir loved the idea of doing a biopic on the music baron Gulshan Kumar; his fascinating life-journey and the manner in which he changed the course of the music industry. Therefore, Aamir immediately agreed to come on board as co-producer.”
Apparently, the PK actor has only agreed to be a producer on this project along with Gulshan Kumar’s son Bhushan Kumar. However, talks of roping in other Bollywood A-listers are underway, “They are looking at Salman Khan or Ajay Devgn. It has to be an A-lister. Bhushan wants to immortalize his father through this biopic,” says the source.
But the bigger problem now, are the grey areas in Gulshan Kumar’s life - his alleged hand in popularizing music piracy in India - which A-listers are wary of setting into. With the mounting complications around this project, only time will reveal the face and fate of this film.
