Kedarnath's story gave me goosebumps: Sara Ali Khan
Sensing a moment, Sushant is quick to add a few words of praise for the newcomer.
After going through delays and turmoils, the trailer of Sara Ali Khan’s debut film Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput was finally launched on Monday afternoon.
After Janvhi Kapoor, Sara is the most talked about star kid on the block to be making her debut under a big banner. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath is a love story that revolves around Sushant and Sara, and is set in Kedarnath.
From the trailer, one can figure out that acting is in her blood, as she seems effortless in each frame. “I still remember when this story was narrated to me. I was in tears and had goosebumps. I was with my mother and decided there and then that I wanted to do this film,” she says.
Director Abhishek pitches in to add, “She is extremely intelligent, and was not looking for a launch. She just fell in love with the story. She is a perfect actor to work with.”
When asked to choose between Kedarnath and Simmba, pat comes the reply, “How can I answer this. Both gave me different experiences. I am grateful that these two people choose me for these films.”
Sensing a moment, Sushant is quick to add a few words of praise for the newcomer. “As actors, we all like to be surprised during the scenes but Sara kept me on my toes,” he says.
When asked why he chose to tell his story against the backdrop of a disaster, Abhishek says it is his way of giving back to the society. “I am glad I chose this story. So many people lost their lives in 2013 Uttarakhand floods. I thought of all the pain the families must have gone through,” he says.
Sara who is good friends with Jahnvi was asked if there’s stiff compitition between the two, she dismisses it by praising Janhvi’s work in Dhadak. “As I have said earlier, all of us are here to do our jobs. She has done amazingly in her debut. Everybody loved her work, hopefully, people will love mine too,” she hopes.
The debutant who lives with her mother says she often takes her suggestions. But from her step-mom Kareena Kapoor Khan, it is her professionalism she wants to imbibe. While Kedarnath is all set to be her debut film, Rohit Shetty’s Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh is her second film in the pipeline. “Pressure is definitely there but I consider myself lucky to have two films coming up this year,” she says.
