Rakesh Roshan: For Rishi and me, everything is Khel Khel Mein
Both Rakesh Roshan and Rishi Kapoor, who have been friends for over four decades, make light of dealing with a grave illness.
Warrior that he is, Rakesh Roshan is back home after surgery on his throat and raring to get back to work. Three days after a surgery that would have dampened any average person’s spirits, the filmmaker-actor is in an incredibly upbeat mood.
“I am feeling fine, and no, I am not taking any major precautions. Life is again normal. It is all because of the good wishes of my friends and of course the exceptional support of my family.”
Thousands of miles away in the US, Rakesh Roshan’s best friend Rishi Kapoor is also undergoing treatment for a grave illness, with the same spirit.
“For Rishi and me, everything is Khel Khel Mein,” Rakesh quips.
For those who came in late, Rishi and Rakesh have been friends for over 40 years. In 1975 they starred in a blockbuster musical suspense drama titled Khel Khel Mein that was directed by Raveena Tandon’s dad Ravi Tandon. That’s when the Rishi-Rakesh friendship started.
In a rare instance of enduring friendship in the fickle world of showbiz, the two continue to be close friends to this day.
