Kapoors, one big happy family

Though Sridevi left a void in the lives of her loved ones, her death has brought families together. And a recent picture shared by Anshula Kapoor from Sonam Kapoor’s wedding shows nothing less than a happy Kapoor family.

The picture in question features Arjun Kapoor and Anshula along with their father Boney Kapoor, and more importantly, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor — Sridevi’s daughters. This picture of the Kapoors clearly shows Boney to be happy with his four children.

This is not a standalone picture. A month back Arjun had lashed out at a website for publishing an unflattering story on Janhvi’s dress when she had visited his residence for a family dinner. Arjun took to Twitter to give the website a good dressing-down, “It’s shameful that ur eye would go searching for something like this shame on u...this is how our country looks at young women yet another shining example...ashamed by this...” his tweet said.

While a text to Arjun went unanswered, an industry insider admits things have started to change after the death of Sridevi. It is well known how Arjun stood by his father during the period, traveled to Dubai to help get the late actress’s body safely back home. He was a major part of all the rituals and last rites. And that is when all the children of Boney, from both his marriages, connected. “What has also been clear that it was possibly Anshula who took the first step to make things better. She is known to have a great deal of impact on Arjun’s life,” says the insider.

This could be true. It was Anshula who threw a small get-together on Janhvi’s 21st birthday, a couple of weeks after Sridevi’s demise. All the cousins, including Sonam Kapoor, attended the party. In fact, only days before that Anshula had come in full defense of her sisters when someone commented something mean about Janhvi and Khushi on one of her Instagram posts. “hi, I’m requesting you to refrain from using abusive language especially towards my sisters,” her response read. She even went out of the way to spend time with Khushi when Janhvi started shooting soon after her mother’s demise.

While Sridevi’s death has left many in tears, her soul possibly would be content with her family finally coming together – something that never happened while she was alive, and something that probably often bothered her.
