Team Salman fears overexposure
Now, his team is busy working on strategies for him to make a strong comeback on both platforms.
Salman Khan’s last release, Race 3, may have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in a matter of days, but a month after its release it has only made about Rs 160 crore in all. The actor’s return to the small screen with Dus ka Dum has also been rather lacklustre, with television ratings failing to match up to those of his other show — Bigg Boss.
Now, his team is busy working on strategies for him to make a strong comeback on both platforms.
“This could be a case of overexposure. After his last disaster, Tubelight, Salman had Tiger Zinda Hai, which helped him recover. But it’s worrying that Race 3 has not made it into the Rs 200 crore club. Salman is doing a great job on Dus Ka Dum, but the numbers do not reflect that. Ratings are not necessarily an accurate indicator of the popularity of a show, but that’s what the industry goes by. So team Salman is wondering if he should stay away from TV for a while and focus on his next release Bharat, to ensure he gets back to the top,” a source reveals.
