Jacqueline Fernandez is a relieved actress. The actress had worked very hard to learn pole dancing on a professional basis for the song Chandralekha in the upcoming film, A Gentleman opposite Sidharth Malhotra.

The makers decided to chop portions of the song because they felt it was a risk to keep something so risqué in the film, with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) coming down hard on many filmmakers. “The song was basically chopped and pole dancing portions were trimmed because of the fear of the CBFC (read Pahlaj Nihalani). The filmmakers did not want to take on the CBFC and just create a controversy. They simply wanted a clean certificate,” says a source close to the makers.

However, ever since news filtered out on Friday evening that the CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani was sacked, and Prasoon Joshi had taken over, the filmmakers decided to change their stand. “Jacqueline and the filmmakers are now trying to retain the original version of the song. It helps that Prasoon is an intelligent and a reasonable man as well,” says the source. So, if all goes well, Jacqueline’s hard work will be seen on screen.
