KJo all set to remake Marathi blockbuster film Sairat?

While many producers have expressed their desire to remake the film, it's Karan Johar who has reportedly bought the rights!

Mumbai: Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar starrer Marathi film ‘Sairat’, which is a tragic romance drama, was highly praised this year and did so well at the box office that it became the first Marathi film to earn Rs 100 crore club.

While many producers have expressed their desire to remake the film, it’s Karan Johar who has reportedly bought the rights! According to recent reports, Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions has acquired the remake rights of ‘Sairat’ and will be producing it along with the film’s original producers, Zee.

Reports further reveal that the basic storyline will remain the same. However, the work on the film’s script is in progress and will be tweaked a little. The remake of ‘Sairati’ will have a completely different star cast and the film will most likely go on floors next year.

Well, we are curious to know who will fill into Rinki and Akash’s shoes in the film’s remake.
