Twinkle won't make film on Rajesh Khanna, Akshay Kumar
Twinkle vehemently refuses to entertain the idea of not just a film on her father, but also her husband Akshay Kumar.
Twinkle Khanna is currently reaping the fruits of the success of Pad Man, her first venture as a writer and producer.
The story of the movie is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary napkins for women in Indian villages. And while she’s worked on a story of a real-life person, Twinkle asserts she’s not keen on working on or writing a biopic about her father, the late Rajesh Khanna.
In fact, Twinkle vehemently refuses to entertain the idea of not just a film on her father, but also her husband Akshay Kumar.
“No,” she says. “I am interested in stories which have layers to it; those that have a larger ramification than just somebody’s life. I mean, it’s great for somebody to write a story about one person’s life, but for me, there have to be layers. The story has to have a message. And that’s what I believe in.”
