Bala has to wait
Apart from Bala, Vijan is also producing Arjun Patiala, Made in China and Angrezi Medium.
We told you recently that the dilemma that prolific producer Bhushan Kumar is in when he makes multiple films and is unable to find dates. Rubbing shoulders with him in the new film factory is Dinesh Vijan.
The Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar-Yami Gautam starrer film Bala, shepherded by Stree director Amar Kaushik recently started filming. Vijan had also produced Stree and hence planned the film with his director. After wrapping the Mumbai schedule, the team will head off to Kanpur and finish the film by the end of June.
“But then, Dinesh has a huge issue about finding the right release date. Apart from this, his marketing team also needs to find enough time and bandwidth to promote the film and they are also busy with other films such as Diljit-Kriti’s Arjun Patiala, that was waiting long for a release date and the Rajkummar-Mouni starrer Made In China. Other films in the pipeline include Imtiaz Ali’s film starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan and the Irrfan Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Angrezi Medium. So they need to figure out a release date and it does not seem that it will happen this year,” says a trade source.
While November could have been a good option — the Ayushmann Khurrana-Amitabh Bachchan film Gulabo Sitabo just announced its arrival during that time. Hence Bala which is based on premature balding will have to wait.
