Sonakshi Sinha on Deepa Malik biopic
The actress has also met the Paralympics champion during an award show.
Sonakshi Sinha has been keen to do a biopic, and it seems that her wish has come true: She has been offered a film based on Paralympic silver medalist Deepa Malik. Deepa is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics. She has been honoured with the Arjuna award in 2012, at the age of 42, and was felicitated with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2017.
Reacting to this news, Sonakshi says, “It is speculation for now. I don’t like to talk about things until I sign on the dotted lines, so let it be speculation for now. But I promise you henceforth the scripts that I will choose will be very interesting.”
“I have been wanting to do a biopic for a very long time, and if I get the right one and if I get the story that’s really worth telling then I would jump for it,” she adds.
The actress has also met the Paralympics champion during an award show. Talking about the meeting, she says: “I met her and she is a lovely lady. What a strong-willed woman, even in that one conversation I could tell.
She is on a wheelchair, and not once did she make me feel anything negative, because sometimes you bend to click a picture, but she stood tall. That’s how proud a woman she is; she is a great lady.”
