All not sunny between Akshay-Rohit
All is not well between Sooryavanshi's actor-director duo, Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty.
The cop film was originally supposed to release on Eid 2020 alongside the Salman-Alia-starrer directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Inshallah. But now, on Salman’s request, Rohit Shetty has decided to prepone the release of Sooryavanshi.
While this crucial change was being negotiated between Salman and Rohit, Akshay was not involved in the decision at all. According to a source in the know, “Akshay was not even taken into confidence before the decision to prepone Sooryavanshi was taken. It was all decided between Salman and Rohit Shetty, and the announcement was made on a public platform. This has left Akshay fuming.”
This isn’t the first time that Akshay Kumar has had to step aside for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. In 2018, Akshay voluntarily postponed his PadMan for Bhansali’s Padmaavat. “Akshay was in no mood to move this time. It was all done between Salman and Rohit Shetty,” the source adds.
Relations between Akshay and Salman have always been strained. They were finally supposed to come together to co-produce Kesari along with Karan Johar. However, Salman opted out of that project.
