Bhumi Pednekar’s movie, Manmarziyan, opposite Ayushmann Khurrana, may have been shoved into the cold storage, but she’s now ready for her second release, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The actress feels happy that her forthcoming movie tackles a social issue.

“There are places in India where people have money to buy jewellery, but do not have money to build toilets. In all honesty, the film is a comment on the mindset of some Indian audiences. It’s time for us to change and make toilets,” she iterates.

Talking about the movie further, she adds, “It’s a great love story between two simple characters. An important message is being passed on through their love story. It will bring a massive change in society, and will make women realise that having a bathroom is their right, and they will fight for it one day.”

Bhumi admits she’s rather clueless about the Intellectual Property Rights controversy surrounding her film. “Our film is original, and I’m not aware of the exact case and I would not be able to comment on it,” says the actress.
