Vidya Balan against sexism in Bollywood
Vidya was of the opinion that there was a lot of sexism in Bollywood and she wanted to do away with that.
Earlier this week, Vidya Balan was in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh to help the children learn English as part of a brand activity. “Vidya is here for vidya,” she guffawed in her inimitable style. At this juncture, the actress chose to speak about sexism in Bollywood too.
Vidya was of the opinion that there was a lot of sexism in Bollywood and she wanted to do away with that. “I would want to see Bollywood independent of sexism,” she opined. “I am not saying that there is a lot of sexism in Bollywood. And it is not just there in Bollywood —whatever is present in society, is present in Bollywood as well. It is important that we get rid of it.”
Having said that, Vidya is also of the opinion that she would not want to work with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur, though they are in the same business. “It is important to keep certain things away from each other,” she says, honestly.
