Hrithik Roshan says no to Dharma, again
The actor turned down Karan Malhotra and Karan Johar's double role fare.
Hrithik Roshan has turned down director Karan Malhotra’s film for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions yet again. This is the second time Hrithik has said no to Karan Malhotra.
Earlier, the actor turned down the director’s proposed literary adaptation, Shuddhi, after much deliberation. The ambitious project had to eventually be shelved.
Sources say that both, Karan Malhotra and Karan Johar had approached Hrithik this time, with an ‘out of the box’ comedy, featuring the actor in a double role. However, after much negotiation, Hrithik decided against doing the double role comedy. With Judwaa 2 being the big comic caper featuring Varun Dhawan playing dual characters this year, perhaps Hrithik wanted to stay away from the space.
Refusing to comment on the films he’s declined, Hrithik says, “At the moment, I have not signed any new film. I’m looking at what to do next.”
Incidentally, Aditya Chopra had planned Thugs of Hindostan with Hrithik, but the latter wanted to start work on it after completing Kaabil. “Adi didn’t want to wait. So he went to Aamir Khan. But look at how destiny works. Kaabil is over, and the shooting of Thugs of Hindostan has still not started,” a source said.
