After films like Marksheet, starring Imran Zahid, and Cheat India, starring Emraan Hashmi, delved into the exam paper scams in India, the Thai blockbuster, Bad Genius, is set to be adapted for Indian screens. The makers of the film, Azure Entertainment, have acquired the rights to the film. Bad Genius tells the story of a girl who, although a mathematical genius, tries to make a quick buck by helping other students ace the exams and get into top universities.

“Incidentally, the US rights of the film have also been sold. The film is a huge hit in China and hence, a right choice for the Indian markets as well. It is an intelligent move to bring hits in the Chinese market to India, because of the similarity in the target audience,” says our source from the industry.
