Aditya Chopra is arguably one of the biggest film producers of the country and inarguably the most reclusive celebrity of Bollywood.

Despite directing four films and producing dozens, you’ll find only a handful of his pictures on the Internet, and that says it all. And in a case of ‘opposites attract’, Aditya married the chirpy Rani Mukerji in 2014.

The actress now becomes the one and only person who can reveal some secrets about him. And she made revelations galore as a guest on a talk show with Neha Dhupia.

Aditya was the person who came to Rani’s mind when the Neha asked her if she curses and abuses. “Yes, I do. I curse my husband every day; I abuse my husband every day (laughs)!’’ Rani said.

But there’s a twist. “He does such loving things that the cursing comes out with love! So, in my family when we curse, we curse with love. We don’t curse with hate. If I curse somebody, that means I really love that person,’’ she exclaimed.

Despite Aditya failing as director for the first time with Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor starrer Befikre, Rani said, “He is the best,” when asked to rate him as a director.

Not much is known about how the couple first met. “After having faced failure for a couple of my films, luckily Mujhse Dosti Karoge happened and that’s when I met Adi first time, professionally. He told me that I was doing a couple of crap films and that people had pressured into not taking me because they thought I didn’t have the equity for a Yash Raj film. But Adi had belief in my talent and me, and thought that I was good for the part,” Rani shared on the show.

It was reported that Aditya had suggested Italy as a venue to Anushka Sharma for her wedding to Virat Kohli and designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who was also present with Rani on the show, drew parallels between the two couples, “There was a lot of pressure on Virat and Anushka, like there was pressure on Rani and Aditya when they were getting married.”

On Aditya’s reclusive nature, Rani said, “It’s not as if he is paranoid about the cameras. He just doesn’t want to be photographed. He had told me after our marriage, ‘God, when I fell in love with you, I didn’t stop to think that I was in love with an actress. Now, because of you, people are attaching my pictures to yours as well’.”

Like Aditya, you’ll hardly find any pictures of their daughter Adira. “I want Adira to grow up normally. (Otherwise) you get unwanted and undeserved attention without having achieved anything in life. I want Adira to be treated like any other child in school. Aditya and I don’t want her to be photographed constantly,” Rani asserts.

And when asked what would be the one thing she wished Adira doesn’t imbibe from her father, Rani replied, “His immense passion for food.” She revealed how Aditya was obsessed with ‘food and films’ and later said, “Actually its’ three Fs — Food, Films and I will not spell out the third F.”

After becoming a mother, Rani will be seen on the big screen after four years with Hichki, which hits the theatres on March 23.
