Kizzie Aur Manny director suspended; Sushant denies allegations
Director Mukesh Chhabra and actor Sushant Singh Rajput have both been accused of sexual misconduct.
According to a report recently published in a newspaper, Sushant Singh Rajput has been harassing his Kizie Aur Manny co-star Sanjana Sanghi by making lewd comments on set. So much so that she’s even complained to director Mukesh Chhabra about it.
The sudden disappearance of the verified sign from his Twitter account leads many to believe that it’s the result of his alleged misconduct.
Meanwhile, the actor is fuming at the charges and claiming innocence. He has tweeted screenshots of conversations between him and his co-star to prove that all is well with him. “I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what was, in the midst of this curated and well-timed smear campaign. From the first till the last day of the shoot, this is what happened on the set with Sanjana (sic),” Sushant writes.
Based on the screenshots, the last message he seems to have received from the actress reads, “Performing with you today was a treat. Those words will always stick with me. Thank you so much!”
Meanwhile, the axe has fallen on casting director-turned-director Mukesh Chhabra, who has been suspended after being accused of sexual misconduct during one of his casting trysts. In a statement, Fox Star Studios, the film’s production house, says, “As a responsible organisation, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment at workplace very seriously. Hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra, director of our film, Kizzie Aur Manny, which is under production, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company (MCCC) concludes its inquiry on allegations against him.”
