Abhishek Bachchan, who was last seen in Housefull 3, had been lying low for a while on the movies front. However, the actor is now set to be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan, produced by Aanand L. Rai.

A few days ago, the actor welcomed his foray back into movies, tweeting, “It’s been just 2 yrs since I faced a film camera…A new journey, a new film begins today. Need your good wishes and blessings (sic).”

And while it’s been a good couple of years since he last acted in a movie, Abhishek’s producer Aanand is wary of calling Manmarziyaan his ‘comeback film’. On being asked about it by a journalist recently, Aanand said, “I don’t know why we are saying that he is coming back… he has been around. It’s good for an actor to take a gap if he so wishes to.”

Aanand further heaped praise on Abhishek. “He’s a very talented actor. I’ve always wanted to work with him, and I’m glad we could do that with Manmarziyaan under Anurag’s direction,” he says.

Known to bring rural India on to the silver screen in a significant way, Aanand says it’s his upbringing that he tries to portray on the screen. “I like to be associated with films that will take you on a joy ride. Whatever I can bring from my middle class background, I try and translate that onto the screen,” he explains.

Meanwhile, Aanand also has his hands full, shooting for Zero with Shah Rukh Khan. He smiles, “The feedback has been amazing so far, but I want to deliver a product that’s been running in my head for a long time now. With SRK, I’m able to achieve that. We are having a great time shooting for the film, and I’m sure it will translate on the screen.”
