Manisha Koirala on stars and social media
The actress also has an apt reply to people who ask does true friendships exists in the showbiz.
Actress Manisha Koirala, who has witnessed stardom in the 90s, feels that the definition of stardom has changed over the years. The 46-year-old actress is back in showbiz with her film Dear Maya, which releases in June, realises the difference between the 90s and now. The mystery around a star has all but disappeared thanks to the social media.
Manisha Koirala says, “Stars are easily accessible to the fans, so they feel closer to the celebrity. People get to know where they are going, what they eat. So the element of mystery that surrounded stars is gone. There is a good and bad side to it but we can’t ignore the fact that social media has become very popular.”
The actress also has an apt reply to people who ask does true friendships exists in the showbiz.
She says, “When you come into this profession you are not coming here to have a long-lasting friendship, right? We are here in a competitive area to succeed I don’t know why there is this pressure for film people to say whether true friendship exists. Why single out people in the film industry for this question anyway?”
