Before starting work on Rumi Jaffery’s next film, Sushant Singh Rajput had confided in the veteran director on his desire to work on a Hitchcockian thriller. According to revelations made by the Life Partner director, the late actor had asked him if he could buy the rights of a film made by Alfred Hitchcock to remake or perhaps write a new story keeping in mind the style of the legendary director.

“Sushant was very intrigued by Alfred Hitchcock’s mysteries, and he wanted a script in that tradition. He had told me to identify a good Hitchcock movie that did not have more than five to six characters and could be executed very quickly. I had also penned down a thought for him as per how he would have liked it,” says Rumi, who would have been shooting in London for his other film with the actor had the lockdown not happened.

It can be recalled that Sushant Singh had not starred in any mytery movie apart from Byomkesh Bakshi with Yash Raj Films for director Dibbakar Banerjee. The film suffered at the box office as it was released with Fast and Furious 7.
