Rohit Shetty talks Golmaal 5
The second film from the series came in 2006 as Golmaal Returns. Golmaal 3 was out in 2010 and Golmaal Again, the fourth part, released in 2017.
As Rohit Shetty celebrates 13 years of his biggest franchise film Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, the first part of which released in July 2006, the director is working out ideas for the fifth part of the franchise.
The second film from the series came in 2006 as Golmaal Returns. Golmaal 3 was out in 2010 and Golmaal Again, the fourth part, released in 2017.
“When anyone speaks about Golmaal, I do not think it is my film anymore. I think it is a product of the audience, and it is my job to make that film and deliver it to them. It is a household name now, and I have to make it now and again for them,” confirms the filmmaker, who is currently working on his next directorial Sooryavanshi.
“For me, the idea of the Golmaal series is very simple — to make people happy. The characters are simple ones. Nothing is questioned or analysed, and the film makes you feel happy,” says Shetty, who will soon be moving off to Bulgaria to shoot for his TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi. Shetty incidentally had also shot his SRK-Kajol starrer Dilwale in Bulgaria.
