A promising trailer for Jagga Jasoos

The Jagga Jasoos trailer, which released on Tuesday, is a series of vignettes, where lead characters Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, go through a number of bizarre experiences, from high-thrill car chases to riding ostriches through a field. The entire trailer has only one dialogue by Ranbir right at the end.

The snippets follow one another so swiftly that you can hardly comprehend what is happening. One moment Ranbir, with cling film wrapped around his face, points a gun at Katrina. The next, they are in the middle of a field. The scene then cuts to the two of them riding through the desert. The trailer, which was surprisingly released just hours after the movie’s first look, has stark similarities to Ranbir’s last outing with director Anurag Basu — Barfi. A refreshing break from conventional trailers, the importance of the plot presumably lies in the chaos that these two central characters are dragged into.

Anurag has co-produced the film with Ranbir and Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Jagga Jasoos, also stars  Govinda, and is scheduled to release on April 7 next year.
