It was a rather hullabaloo day for filmmaker Karan Johar who seem to have gotten at the wrong end of the stick. The producer of Akshay Kumar’s latest release Kesari might have been looking forward to his movie hitting the screens but ended up facing the ire of Shah Rukh Khan’s fans on social media.

It so happened that the excited producer, in a spree of retweeting about the film, ‘accidentally’ liked a tweet comparing Akshay to Shah Rukh. The tweet read, “Half day colls [collections] of Kesari on Holi day (which is worse than pre diwali day) [is] greater than Zero full festival day collection (sic).”

Soon enough, #ShameOnKaranJohar started trending on Twitter with SRK fans abusing Karan for his betrayal his friend Shah Rukh Khan. Currently, the hashtag is on the sixth position with many SRK fans urging Karan to apologise for his mistake.

Eventually, Karan seemed to have realised the mess he had gotten into and posted an apology and conveniently blamed it on technology (if you believe).

“Guys having a technical problem with my twitter account! Strange things are going on!from uploading shoe picture and gibberish to liking tweets I haven’t even read and would NEVER even acknowledge! Please bear with me and I apologise for any inconvenience! Sorting it out asap! (sic),” he tweeted.

Soon, it was followed by another tweet saying, “Aaj twitter pe thodi gadbad ho gayi but baaki sab #firstclass hai.”
